I am a Person Centred Counsellor with over 12 years’ experience.

I have worked in the NHS (CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health)) and the Voluntary Sector and can work with children, young people and adults with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, depression, fears or phobias, anger, self harm, bereavement, relationship problems, domestic violence, childhood abuse and identity issues.

I can offer play based therapy for younger children. I have experience of working with children and young people who are on the autistic spectrum and/or have ADHD.

Self published author

I am the author of a mental wellbeing book that aims to teach children more about what anxiety is and what techniques they can use to help manage their anxiety.

Although it is written in a way for children to read for themselves, it can also serve as reading material for schools, counsellors, and health & social workers to help approach and explain anxiety to children they may be working with.

It is currently available on Amazon and can be purchased in paperback form.

Why Creative Counselling?

I can provide paint, clay, play doh, pastels, crayons, drawing, sand play, games or puppets to help my clients get the best out of therapy. It’s not only children who are helped by working creatively. If you think it might help you to express your inner most thoughts, let me know what you’d prefer. It’s not about producing a perfect image or an artefact but what we learn about ourselves during the process of being creative.

Children and young people

I offer play based and art based therapy for children and young people. For example, I use sand therapy, puppets, games, painting, clay and drawing to help children express themselves for when they find it difficult to put their thoughts and feelings into words.

"I cannot praise Sally enough, the help and guidance she has given me has made a huge difference to my daily life"

Shelley (adult)

December 2019

Sally has given my daughter confidence to tackle her fears and provided both her and us, as parents, the tools to manage her anxiety going forward.

My daughter has looked forward to the sessions which have been creative, fun and engaging. We are so grateful for Sally’s patient and nurturing approach. The progress my daughter has made in just 6 weeks has been amazing to see.

Sally provides an excellent counselling service, focusing particularly on the use of creativity, in a lovely relaxed environment. She has such a caring, nurturing manner that my young daughter felt comfortable and at ease with her straight away. My daughter came away with some brilliant coping strategies for her anxiety and panic which she has put into practice in every day situations; Sally has really made a difference to our lives!

I would highly recommend Sally to anyone looking for a counsellor, especially for children and young people.
